Lot size calculator
Enter your balance, the risk you're willing to take and the stop loss. Get the lot size, and how it splits over your take profits. It's the same sum TradeMirrorly does for every copied signal.
Lot size
0.10lots
- Money at risk
- $100.00
- Loss of 1 lot to SL
- $1,000.00
- Stop distance
- 10
- Per trade (3 TPs)
- 0.03 lots
Rounded down to 0.01 lots, so never above your risk. Lots = money at risk ÷ loss of 1 lot from entry to stop.
For markets priced in US dollars, with a USD account. Contract sizes are typical: check your broker's contract specification. TradeMirrorly itself uses your broker's own figures for every symbol.

How TradeMirrorly sizes a copied signal
- 1
Money at risk
A fixed amount, or a % of your balance (or of a balance you set).
- 2
Loss of 1 lot
What 1 lot would lose from the entry to the stop loss, from your broker's own tick value.
- 3
Lots
Money at risk ÷ loss of 1 lot, rounded down to your broker's lot step, so never above the risk you asked for.
- 4
Split over the TPs
In equal trades, or your own lots per TP, like 1.5 at TP1, 0.5 at TP2 and 1 at TP3.
- If the risk works out below your broker's minimum lot, the EA opens the minimum and says so in the Journal.
- For a signal with no stop loss, an assumed distance (100 pips unless you change it) is used for the sum only; the trade itself still has no stop loss.
How do I calculate lot size from my risk?
Work out the money you're willing to lose (a fixed amount, or a % of your balance). Then work out what 1 lot would lose from your entry to your stop loss. Lot size = money at risk ÷ loss of 1 lot, rounded down to your broker's lot step.
What lot size should I use for 1% risk on gold?
It depends on your stop. With a $10,000 balance, 1% risk is $100. A 10-dollar stop on XAUUSD with a 100-ounce contract loses $1,000 per lot, so the size is 0.10 lots. Use the calculator for your own numbers.
Why does my broker's contract size matter?
The loss of 1 lot depends on how much of the market 1 lot is. Brokers differ, especially for indices and crypto, so check your broker's contract specification. TradeMirrorly itself uses your broker's own tick value for every symbol.
Can TradeMirrorly size copied signals automatically?
Yes. Set a size in lots, a money amount or a % of your balance, per account or per channel. The EA sizes every copied signal from its own stop loss and splits it over the TPs your way.
Let every signal size itself.
